Research trip to Kalmykia

In collaboration with Jasmijn Visser. This film (beta version, 55 min) is the result of our research expedition to Kalmykia in July 2017, commissioned by Krasnoyarsk Museum Center, exhibited during Krasnoyarsk Biennale in October 2017. Speculative Roadside Memorials for Selfie-related Deaths

A roadside memorial marks a location where a person (unexpectedly) died. The cause of death is often accidentally. To commemorate the deceased flowers, cuddly toys, photos, candles and other objects are placed at the location. This project speculates on roadside memorials of deaths caused by accidents while taking a selfie.
